Understanding the world as God desires us to.
While doing my schoolwork today, God gave me this. I pray it speaks to you as well.
Do we see the world as God desires us to, and therefore are we ready to act on His behalf?
Are we being taken captive by the lies of the world, or are we transforming our minds to truly understand God and His views of the world?
Understanding-True Understanding- is invaluable. Paul writes in Colossians 2:8, "See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ." Human tradition apart from divine wisdom is dangerous. It's deceitful. Paul understood the philosophy of his day, but also understood the world through the lens of Christ. He knew how others approached the world, and this allowed him to approach others with the truth more effectively.
Paul also writes in Ephesians 6:12, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
When going into war, understanding what is happening is just as important as being an experienced fighter. We are all fighting a battle, a spiritual battle against the evil of this world. Are we truly understanding that, as well as understanding the Truth being presented in the Word of God, that allows us to be transformed and overcome the battle? God wins in the end, but are we being taken captive by the lies that keep us from seeing the victory?
Lean into God and His Word, use it to equip you for the battle we are facing each and every day. Transform your mind to "be ready to give an answer to those who ask about the hope we have, but do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander" 1 Peter 3:15-16.
God bless you on your journey.
